Southern Company is looking for students with a background in graphic or web design to work as an Innovation Center intern. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with creating and refining promotional assets (Web sites, digital promotion, print promotion, and packaging) for products and services that come from the Energy Innovation Center. In addition, this role will require research into related products and technologies, working with corporate ideation program data (reviewing, researching, defining and compiling reports).

Participants will be grouped and charged with designing a durable, efficient and adaptable refugee camp. This is a perfect opportunity for smart, creative HTS students to show those engineers their ideas!
Applicants are teamed up based on their backgrounds and strengths to create a well-rounded group able to consider the engineering, humanitarian, social, and health perspectives of the task at hand.
Through a $15,000 donation from Siemens, EWB-GT will give out monetary prizes in three divisions, to be named at the start of the event; first place in each division will earn $4,000, and second place $1,000. Working with Peacebuilding Solutions, a non-governmental organization, the winning design will be presented to the United Nations High Commission on Refugees this winter and constructed shortly thereafter.
The weeklong competition will commence with an opening ceremony on campus on Sunday, Sept. 25, when students will receive specifications for the refugee camp. Each group will present its design before a panel of judges at an open event on Saturday, Oct. 1, at the College of Management.
There are no minimum requirements for participation; interested students should apply online by Saturday, Sept. 10, either with a group or as individuals.

- Maintain inventory of hardware, software, printing supplies and other materials necessary for operations.
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop in a Mac and PC environment to create and edit digital content.
- Availability to work a weekly schedule of 28 hours.
- Good customer service skills required.
- Bachelor’s degree required; background in history preferred.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced today that the Department of Revenue will host a contest open to the general public seeking a design for a new Georgia license plate. The design contest will begin on Monday, May 23, with acceptance of design submissions to conclude on Friday, June 17.
The department is scheduled to produce a new Georgia license plate in 2012.
The design contest seeks original artwork for the new license plate and is open to all Georgia citizens or companies authorized to do business in the state. The public will be given the opportunity to select three semifinalists via an online vote from June 24-July 8, 2011. Following the conclusion of online voting, the three semifinalists will then be presented to Deal, who will announce the winning design on July 15. The winning artist will participate in the announcement ceremony, along with MacGinnitie and Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission is currently working with a marketing firm, MINDPOWER, to revamp their website. They are looking for current Georgia Tech students and faculty to participate in a creative round table discussion on Tuesday, February 8. They will meet with faculty from 10:30-noon and students from 1:30-3p.m. in the Bill Moore Student Success Center.

It's the 40th anniversary of the Student Center at Georgia Tech, so they are looking for a new logo! Got a flair for the creative? With planning for the 13th annual Georgia Tech Earth Day Celebration under way, the T-shirt design contest and nominations for environmental awards are open to the campus community.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and retirees are eligible to submit their T-shirt designs for a chance to win $500. Submissions must include this year's theme, "Celebrate Our World," in the design. The design area must fit within 8 1/2 inches wide by 11 inches wide.
Nominations also are open for the Environmental Leadership Award (ELA) and the Environmental Initiative Award (EIA).
The awards recognize an impact on recycling, clean-air initiatives, water conservation, energy and sustainability, pollution control and other environmental issues. For more information, go to www.earthday.gatech.edu.
