1st Year International Plan Meeting

This is a mandatory meeting for first year IP students to discuss your IP requirements and set you up on a path to successfully complete the International Plan. Plus, it’s a great way to meet fellow IP students! Please plan to attend ONE of the following dates. The same session will be offered twice to accommodate schedules. The Fair is happening Thursday, October 2nd from 10am to 2pm in the Student Center Ballroom. Let the balloons draw you in to a ballroom full of GT's Faculty-led and Exchange Study Abroad Programs. Interested in the International Plan? Have some unanswered questions? Two International Plan Open Houses will be held next week! While these are primarily geared toward students who are not yet enrolled in the IP, current students are welcome to attend as well. (You are also welcome to come by if you have any IP questions or just want to say hi.) There will be IP resources available, and a Study Abroad representative will be on hand as well. Pizza will be served.

Modern Languages:
FREN and SPAN courses will be restricted to FREN/SPAN majors, students
with declared minors, and IP students during the first week of registration
(about 24 hours after freshmen time tickets begin). IP students may submit a
permit to register early via the permit form found at
http://www.modlangs.gatech.edu/student-resources/permit-overload-requests.

Global Economics:
IP students who want to take ECON 2101 (The Global Economy) or ECON
4350 (International Economics) need to request a permit for the IP section of
these courses from Mr. Tony Gallego, ECON academic advisor (tony@econ.gatech.edu).
Please include your GTID and your IP status in your message to Mr. Gallego.

International Affairs:
INTA policy is to restrict their major core classes until the first day of classes to
INTA majors only. IP students can request permits for closed classes at the
start of Phase II; permits will be granted the restricted classes if space is
available. No exceptions are made to this policy. INTA core courses that are
most popular among IP students are:

INTA 1110 (IR requirement)
INTA 2040 (IR requirement)
INTA 3301 (Global economics requirement)

During the Study Abroad Peer Advisors Panel, returned study abroad students will be giving you the low-down on getting out of this town and out in the world.  This is a students-only panel. 

Come learn about the International Plan at the annual Study Abroad Fair this Thursday, October 3 from 10am-2pm in the Student Center Ballroom! Stop by the IP table at the fair to pick up information and find out if the IP is right for you! You're also invited to attend to the IP Info Session from 11:30am-noon in room 320 (adjacent to the Ballroom) to see a more detailed presentation about the program.

Interested in the International Plan?  Attend an IP Open House!  These will take place during the second week of class. Representatives from the IP, Study Abroad, International Internships, and Modern Languages will be on hand to give information and answer questions. Free food will be served!!

Every fall the Office of International Education opens its doors and welcomes students to take a tour of the Study Abroad opportunities available at GT.

Advisors will be on hand to answer your questions about programs, eligibility, applications, etc. Plus, there's free food. So, drop in any time for as long or as little as you like. We're in the Savant Building, 2nd floor.

A few of our playlists will be listed, but click on "View All" at bottom to see ALL of our playlists which are organized alphabetically by country. Each playlist consists of videos from GT's faculty-led programs, GT's partner university or videos that will help prepare you to study abroad in that country. Don't see your country yet? Graduating with the IP designator Spring 2011 or Summer 2011? Graduating IP students must complete and have signed a "Degree Designation Form" in order to receive the IP designation on their diploma and transcript.  Download the correct form for your language track (Foreign Language Track and English Language Track) at http://www.internationalplan.gatech.edu/forms/
