The Woodrow Wilson National Teaching Foundation offers Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowships in three states: Georgia, New Jersey, and Indiana. The Fellowship seeks to attract talented, committed individuals with backgrounds in the STEM fields—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—into teaching in high-need Georgia secondary schools.
Summer, 6 month or one year opportunities exist in Hong Kong and Singapore for undergraduates.
First Code Academy (FCA) is the first and leading education company that offers mobile app and programing development courses for pre-university students in Asia.
FCA is looking for students who are passionate about software engineering, have experience in tutoring pre-teens or teens (in any subject), and have an entrepreneurial and startup mindset. Internships can be from June – August (summer), June – December (6 months) or June – May (one year).
Interns do not have to be U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents to apply for FCA. Students should be aware that work visas may be required, and requirements/timelines for work visas may differ depending on citizenship.

A typical day may include academics, arts, swimming, breakfast/lunch and recreational activities. Teaching Assistants will also be responsible for bus monitoring, lunch monitoring, bus loading/drop off, and pick-up coordination as well as attending all field trips. Other duties may also be required.
This internship qualifies for six audited credit hours and transcript designation through GT Pre-Teaching advisement and if registered through the GT Center for Career Discovery and Development.

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools have joined the Pre-Teaching shadow program! KIPP operates free, open-enrollment, public charter schools. Admission to KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is granted to students regardless of prior academic record, conduct, or socioeconomic background. Over 95 percent of KIPP students are African-American and more than 75 percent are eligible for the federally reduced meal program.
There are eight schools within the KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools' region: three elementary schools, four middle schools, and one high school. KIPP STRIVE Primary, KIPP Vision Primary, and KIPP WAYS Primary are elementary schools chartered through Atlanta Public Schools. KIPP STRIVE Academy, KIPP Vision Academy, and KIPP WAYS Academy are middle schools chartered through Atlanta Public Schools. KIPP South Fulton Academy is a middle school chartered through Fulton County Schools. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is the high school and is chartered through Atlanta Public Schools.

Horizons at Georgia Tech is an enrichment program focused on providing K-8 students with support in math and reading during the school year and summer months. Horizons at Georgia Tech is looking for Georgia Tech students to work with the Horizons students in an after school program setting on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 3:00-6:00 PM. The activities will include tutoring in math, science, and reading.
Additionally, the Georgia Tech tutors will help implement weekly hands-on STEM activities with the Horizons students. Experience working with school age children is required. All tutors will have to successfully pass all criminal background checks.

Jumpstart is now hiring Corps Members and Team Leaders! Jumpstart is a national early education organization that recruits and trains college students and community volunteers to work with preschool children in low-income neighborhoods. Through a proven curriculum, these children develop the language and literacy skills they need to be ready for school, setting them on a path to close the achievement gap before it is too late. Jumpstart Corps members have the unique opportunity to inspire young children to learn, serve in a local community, work on a team, and build professional skills. All Corps members receive professional-caliber training to help them implement Jumpstart’s outcome-based program, promote children’s school success, and build family involvement.
Corps members complete an intensive commitment and make a substantial impact in the life of a young child. During the school year, Corps members participate in the following activities:
Serve part-time, 8-12 hours per week, during the school year, including:
- Jumpstart sessions with team and small groups of children, 4 hours per week (two sessions per week for two hours each)
- Team planning meetings and session preparation, which includes planning, reflection, and/or training, 2-3 hours per week
- 2 hours each week in a preschool classroom during the regular school day
- 1 hour of individual planning and preparation for Jumpstart sessions
- Communicate with children’s family
- Participate in intensive pre-service and on-going trainings
- Attend periodic service days, often held on weekends

Did you know that some unpaid internships can be done for academic credit, while paid internships such as the Pre-Teaching internships can be done for audit credit? Audit credit serves as a place holder during the semester but does not count towards the total hours needed to graduate. For example, if you have an internship for six audit credit hours, you only need six more for full-time student status. You do not receive academic credit for the internship, but you also do not pay tuition or fees on the internship hours. Audit credit also assures that your internship goes on your transcript as part of your permanent academic record. Apply for a Pre-Teaching internship!

Participants will also have the opportunity to broaden their understanding of laboratory research and research methods. The program is in conjunction with the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) and the Georgia Intern Fellowships for Teachers (GIFT) program that brings middle and high school Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) teachers together with researchers and graduate students in Georgia Tech laboratories. The goal of the GIFT program is to provide teachers summer STEM internships in university research laboratories and industry workplaces so that they can develop curriculum and lesson plans for the school year that integrate real world applications. PT-SURE students become an integral part of this development process over the course of the summer. Participants may also have the opportunity to work with high school students participating in the Research, Experiment, Analyze, and Learn (R.E.A.L.) component of the GIFT program in the same lab.**PT-SURE participants will not be teaching or learning to teach high school or middle school students but will instead be actively engaged in working with teachers and possible student teams to develop curriculum and lesson plans based upon the research carried out over the summer.

Breakthrough Atlanta is a year round academic enrichment program for students in the Atlanta Public Schools system. Beginning in the summer before entering 7th grade, students partake in a beneficial, rigorous, and fun-filled curriculum of math, history, science, and language arts. They also take part in exciting cultural programs and electives such as drama, dance, basketball, and more.
Any Georgia Tech undergraduate student who interns with Breakthrough Atlanta can also receive 12 audit internship credit hours through the Georgia Tech Center for Career Discovery and Development (C2D2). To receive internship credit, students must be currently enrolled, have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, and be in good academic standing. There is no credit hour minimum requirement nor is there a need for specific major. Students who do not meet the Georgia Tech internship eligibility requirements but still meet Breakthrough Atlanta’s application requirements should still apply.

Hiring specialists from Fulton County Schools and Gwinnett County Public Schools will be conducting mock interviews for all who sign up to come. Interview slots will be 20 minutes long with each specialist. You may meet with one or both specialists.
This event is an excellent networking opportunity and will help you hone your interview skills because you will receive immediate feedback. The hiring specialists will also critique your resume.
