Changes to Dead Week and Exam Period

Changes to the academic calendar approved last year continue to be phased in during the spring semester. This semester will be the first that includes a redesigned final exam schedule and Final Instructional Class Days in place of Dead Week.  For details on the all the changes, go to www.catalog.gatech.edu/rules/12c.php

To help aid in the stress of finals, The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Team are having an “Awaken the Force” Study Break Coffee Cart at Georgia Tech on Monday, December 7 at Tech Walkway from 10AM – 2:30PM.

At the event, they will be giving away free coffee and will be doing some other stress-relieving activities ahead of finals and to celebrate the release of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS on Friday, December 18. The first 50 students will receive exclusive Star Wars coffee tumblers (additional coffee will be given out in the limited-edition cups shown on the flyer attached), and there will be other giveaways and surprises from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS!

Take a break in a Galaxy Far From Finals and head to Tech Walkway on Monday, Dec. 7 from 10AM-2:30PM for #TheForceAwakensATL. Free coffee, exclusive giveaways from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and special prizes for the first 50 students! May the Force be with you for finals.

SCPC, Parents Fund, and Campus Services presents: Midnight Breakfast!

Your favorite finals week tradition is back! Come out to the Student Center on Tuesday, December 8th to fuel up for finals week!

From 7-10 PM find relaxing activities on the third floor of the Student Center. Wear your pajamas for a chance to win GT Night at the Aquarium tickets. Activities include massages, yoga, puppies, games, crafts and more!

From 10 PM - 12 AM free breakfast will be served in the Student Center Food Court by your favorite Georgia Tech Faculty and Staff! Sign up for time slots here! We will take people at the door but the wait is much longer and admittance is not guaranteed. You MUST present your BuzzCard to attend!

The Student Center and SCPC present: Midnight Breakfast!

You're favorite finals week tradition is back!

There will be free breakfast in the Student Center Food Court served by your favorite Georgia Tech Faculty and Staff!

Breakfast will be from 10pm-12am the Tuesday of finals week, December 9th.

Time tickets are available online at scpc.gatech.edu

We will take people at the door but the wait is much longer and admittance is not guaranteed.

You MUST present your Buzzcard to attend!

Therapy Dogs in the Library Today!

The Library and CAREing Paws are partnering to help de-stress students on the last two days of classes. Certified therapy dogs will visit the Library's 1st floor on December 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Go relax with some sweet dogs!

The Ivan Allen College will stage its second annual Rejuvenation Station from 2:30-4:00 on Wednesday, December 4 in the Student Success Center. This informal gathering during dead week provides an opportunity for students and faculty from across the college to mingle and enjoy some light snacks and beverages. Drop by if you can and relieve some stress!

The School of Mathematics will offer optional GT advanced placement mathematics examinations to incoming freshmen who wish to test out of MATH 1113 (Precalculus), MATH 1501 (Calculus I) or MATH 1502 (Calculus II). Please note that the 1501 exam is different from the College Board AP exams. Optional GT Advanced Placement Mathematics Examinations for New Summer and Fall 2013 Freshmen

Tutoring Ends With Last Day of Classes

All tutoring programs (1-to1, Commons Drop-in, PLUS, and PUSH) will end the last day of classes (Friday, April 26th, at 5:00 p.m.). Visit the tutoring center before it's too late, and get help preparing for finals!

Center for Academic Success Workshops

Each semester, the Center for Academic Success offers a series of workshops to help students set and achieve their academic goals and improve their skills as self-regulated learners. All workshops are free, open to the Tech community, and require no registration. Workshops are designed to be participatory and to provide students with new ideas and skills.

Kaplan Test Prep is offering the opportunity to take a practice Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), Law School Admission Test (LSAT), Graduate Management Admission
Test (GMAT), Dental Admission Test (DAT), Optometry Admission Test (OAT), or the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) absolutely FREE.

HTS will host two "Study Breaks" for majors at the beginning of this week.

On Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 12 and 13), we will have snacks and beverages for HTS majors in Old CE room 104, from 10:00am to 12:00pm.  If you're finishing up an early morning final, going to a final exam at 11:30am, just preparing finals or finishing papers, or whatever, stop by and re-energize.  You can get a little snack, visit with other majors, and just relax for a few moments.
