Cultural Vistas offers students from around the world the unique opportunity to complete an internship with a startup company in Berlin, the German capital of innovation and entrepreneurship. Participants gain skills custom-tailored to their career goals and previous work experience, as well as an exciting glimpse into Berlin’s thriving startup scene. Cultural Vistas offers paid and unpaid internship placements.
Eligibility:
- Have a demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship and startup culture
- Be fluent in English. Prior German language knowledge is not required but can be helpful for daily life in Berlin
- Junior standing or higher
- Be between the ages of 18-30
- Have some prior relevant professional experience in your career field (internship, volunteer, work, etc.)
Fees:
The fee to participate in the Berlin Startup Program is 775 €. The program fee includes the following services provided by Cultural Vistas:

The Émigré Memorial German Internship Program–German State Parliaments (EMGIP) is a fellowship program that provides U.S. and Canadian students with internships at a German state parliament (Landtag).
Internships afford students an excellent opportunity to gain government work experience, improve their advanced German language skills, and learn about German culture firsthand.
This professional opportunity overseas is ideal for students planning on pursuing careers at a regional level of government in the United States or Canada, or who have an interest in a specific policy issue such as the environment, education, or healthcare.
EMGIP runs three times a year—fall, spring, and early summer—for one to three months, depending on elections, holiday schedules and state offices’ preferences.

The ThinkSwiss scholarship program managed by the Office of Science, Technology, and Higher Education of the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C. is ready to go into its next round! The program is designed for students enrolled at U.S. and Canadian universities and provides them with a scholarship so that they can go to Switzerland to undertake a research internship at a Swiss university or institution with a respective host professor for 2-3 months.

Work and Available Offices:
Participants intern full-time in one of eight university offices, working in a range of fields including University administration, sustainability, finance, student development, advancement, communications, and more. The U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Internship Program
America’s foreign policy is designed to amplify the nation’s voice and extend its reach in areas critical to the daily lives of its citizens. We work to ensure our country’s diplomatic leadership enhances our economic, food, and energy security and stability, and reflects The U.S. Foreign Service Internship Program (USFSIP) is a paid, intensive internship offering U.S. citizen undergraduate students a chance to participate in the formulation and implementation of U.S. foreign policy, working closely with representatives of the U.S. Department of State’s Foreign and Civil Services. The program is both professionally and academically beneficial, providing participants with hands-on experience and insight into the substance and daily operations of U.S. foreign policy. Training modules on diplomatic history, professional writing and career skills provide additional benefits compared to the typical internship.
We are looking for outstanding students with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, knowledge, and exceptional analytical and leadership skills to participate in a two-summer program that will provide exposure to real-world diplomacy. From June to August, selected students will work in Washington, D.C. where they will experience classroom education about America’s foreign policy and work on a policy desk. In a similar period during the following year, they will take their newfound knowledge and apply it in a U.S. Embassy overseas.

AIESEC Georgia Tech is an international youth-led nonprofit that works to provide affordable opportunities for students to volunteer or intern abroad. As an undergrad, AIESEC allows you to volunteer abroad with schools and NGOs to teach, promote social entrepreneurship, environmental awareness and youth empowerment. For seniors and recent graduates, we offer paid professional internships abroad in the fields of teaching, marketing, and information technology.
Through the volunteering program, called Global Citizen, students are provided housing and meals to teach English, sustainability, and/or social entrepreneurship to youth abroad. Through our professional intern program, Global Talent, upperclassmen are paid to teach English abroad for 6-8 months. Both programs set the student up with a local AIESEC chapter through a university to make friends, help with cultural adjustment, etc.Interested? Who: Any undergraduate or recent graduate seeking hands-on field experience with comprehensive academic preparation.
Where: Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, India, Kenya, South Africa, or Uganda.
When: Summer (June 15 – August 19, 2015) or Fall (September 14 – December 12, 2015)

The Global Internship Program will hold a "How to Find a Global Internship" Workshop next Tuesday, January 20 from 11am-noon in President's Suite D in the Student Success Center.
