Each year, the winning papers are awarded significant prizes in the form of travel funds, which enable graduate students to present their work at professional conferences in their fields. The winners of this year’s paper competition were Jon Schmid (first prize), Yin Li (second prize), Sooa Lee, Mario Bianchini, and Renee Shelby (tied for third prize).

The Accenture Innovation Challenge is a multi-round event that combines hands-on consulting experience with the opportunity to make a positive impact on society. Students will work as teams to collaboratively develop a solution for a case based on a real-world challenge faced by our non-profit partner, World Wildlife Fund (WWF®). Students will apply individually and Accenture will make the final team assignments. We will ensure that all teams are comprised of students from a wide variety of skills and backgrounds.

If selected to participate in this multi-round event, students will be partnered with Accenture coaches and use their analytical, strategic thinking, and creative problem solving skills to innovate – and possibly help implement – solutions to real-world challenges that are faced by our non-profit partner, World Wildlife Fund (WWF®). Only students from select schools and programs are eligible to compete, and Accenture is pleased to extend this opportunity to GA Tech students. Grab some friends, bowl some strikes, and win prizes through our 50/50 raffle and silent auction to help raise money and awareness for RAINN in this year's Strike Out Abuse on March 5 from 7:00-9:00PM.

The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization and was named one of "America's 100 Best Charities" by Worth magazine. In addition to carrying out programs to prevent sexual violence, helping victims, and ensuring that rapists are brought to justice, RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline. Last year, over two hundred students across the Georgia Tech community took a stand against women's violence by raising money for RAINN through "Strike Out Abuse".

Co-hosted by Alpha Sigma Phi and Omega Phi Alpha along with partnerships with the Women's Resource Center, VOICE, and Tech Rec, "Strike Out Abuse!" offers many different ways for students to take a stand while having fun and winning cool prizes.

Activities/Prizes include:

• Bowling Tournament with cash prizes for the top 3 teams!
• Silent Auction for autographed memorabilia from the Georgia Tech Football and Basketball teams as well as the hottest team in the NBA, the Atlanta Hawks!
• 50/50 Raffle!
• Door Prizes!

More about I2S: The competition is for current Georgia Tech students and recent alumni who have early stage product/service ideas or venture concepts that are geared towards creating a better world. Entries might focus on reducing poverty, alleviating hunger, promoting health and wellness, improving air and water quality, reducing the rate of depletion of natural resources, or developing alternate sources of energy… just to name a few!

The keynote speaker will be John Morrow of the University of Georgia. Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to submit papers on any topic in the field of history.
