During their graduating semester, students receive eight to ten emails from Special Events & Protocol to serve as reminders for important dates and deadlines. To help keep faculty and staff better informed, an email list has been created to provide copies of these student emails to interested parties.

President's Graduation Celebration

Fall 2015 graduates, along with their parents and friends, are invited to share in the excitement of Commencement at Georgia Tech’s President's Graduation Celebration. Held on Friday, December 11, from 3-5 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom, families and graduates have an opportunity to take photos with beloved Tech mascots, meet administrators, faculty, and staff, and share in unique traditions that make Georgia Tech such a cherished institution.

To help aid in the stress of finals, The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Team are having an “Awaken the Force” Study Break Coffee Cart at Georgia Tech on Monday, December 7 at Tech Walkway from 10AM – 2:30PM.

At the event, they will be giving away free coffee and will be doing some other stress-relieving activities ahead of finals and to celebrate the release of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS on Friday, December 18. The first 50 students will receive exclusive Star Wars coffee tumblers (additional coffee will be given out in the limited-edition cups shown on the flyer attached), and there will be other giveaways and surprises from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS!

Rigor is a software company that provides first-class Web Performance Monitoring for all Internet and web-based services and helps companies optimize and operate web and mobile applications from a user's point of view They are currently looking for a Culture and Events Intern to help things run smoothly day-to-day including event planning, new hire coordination, and swag and supplies ordering. This is a paid internship with flexible hours in an extremely fun environment. The deadline to apply is January 5th.

Atlanta Film Festival Spring Associate Internships

The Atlanta Film Society (ATLFS) is a year-round, non-profit media arts organization that specializes in film screenings, educational support and film and media events. Interns assist with administrative duties, membership, and event planning and coordination. Please note that while an internship with ATLFS is a great way to get connected to the local film community, the ATLFS is not a film studio and cannot provide internships in film production. The deadline to apply is December 10th.

Join the School of History and Sociology for a talk on Monday, November 23 in the Old CE Building 104.  Dr. Van Vleck joins us from Yale University to speak on "Corporate Globalism in the American Century: The Privatized Infrastructure of Modernization and Development, 1930s-1970s."

Each year Georgia Tech recognizes the legacy of Liam Rattray, a public policy major who was killed in a traffic accident several weeks after he graduated with a BSPP in 2011. Liam was an activist, an urban gardener, an entrepreneur and innovator, and an embodiment of many of the virtues that we hope to promote in our students -- and ourselves. I think he would be delighted at Georgia Tech's new initiative on creating sustainable communities, so it's fitting that his memory is tied to our new campus-wide project. 

The Sports, Society and Technology program of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the Georgia Tech Office of the Arts present Sports on Film, a series of sports films that will be held in the Student Center Theater. Reflecting this year’s Arts@Tech theme of “Get Your Game On,” the program is free and open to the public.

From Oct. 26–30, events will take place on Tech Walk and across campus to show students what SGA has been working on and what they hope to accomplish in the next year. All members of the Georgia Tech community are welcome.
