On Friday, April 22, 2016, the School of History and Sociology at Georgia Tech is hosting a day-long symposium that will feature a roundtable discussion composed of leading historians and sociologists, a series of breakout sessions led by those experts, a panel marking the 20th anniversary of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and a reception. Graduate Studies and Pre-Graduate and Pre-Professional Advising (C2D2) will host the first-ever Georgia Tech Graduate Fair, Thursday, 5 April 2016, 11-1, in the Student Center Ballroom. This fair will showcase opportunities in Georgia Tech's many graduate programs and will include break-out sessions to discuss application processes, personal statements, and the graduate student experience. This fair will focus on GT programs and students, but the information will be useful for students considering other graduate schools, too. The STRONGER Empowerment Tour is a panel event that was created to discuss the various issues prevalent in the black community. The panelists visit various college campuses to speak to young women and men about the issues that are at the forefront of their daily lives. This panel will encourage the students and the community to become more vocal about the problems while at the same time providing a platform to develop solutions. Snacks will be provided by the Women's Resource Center!
ASMEA is currently seeking proposals for paper and panel presentations for its Ninth Annual
Proposals on topics related to the Middle East and Africa should consist of a one-page outline of new and unpublished research. A recent C.V. with all contact data also must be included with name, e-mail, phone number, and affiliation. Submissions will only be accepted through the online submission portal.
The deadline for proposals is April 1, 2016.

With the assistance of projected images and video, three actors guide the audience through stories sourced from over a million anonymous and artful secrets mailed on postcards to artist, curator, and internet phenomenon Frank Warren. The show reaches beyond the confines of the stage, reminding audiences that no matter what you may be facing, you are not alone. (Mature content, not recommended for children)
