The Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) is a membership alliance that provides professional development, communication, and mutual support for Southeast museum professionals. As a networking organization, it is a great opportunity for a Georgia Tech student to make professional contacts for a museum career. Intern, SEMC 2014 Annual Meeting
Southeastern Museums Conference, Atlanta, GA
Job Summary: Assists the Executive Director of Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC) with the administrative logistics and online marketing for the SEMC 2014 Annual Meeting, Knoxville, TN (October 20 - 22, 2014). Market annual meeting to Southeast museum professionals, including Southeast museums, universities/colleges, students, and Emerging Museum Professionals (EMPs). Provide correct and accurate information about all aspects of the annual meeting for annual meeting program, quarterly newsletters, e-news, and website. Assist in the recruitment, communication and coordination of the exhibitors for the 2014 Resource Expo. Make copies of all the information for the tote bags including evaluations, SEMC 2014 Annual Meeting information, participant lists, and Knoxville information. Coordinate volunteers at the annual meeting with local arrangements subcommittee. Please note that this is unpaid internship. SEMC is willing to meet university/college requirements to receive course credit.
Length and time of Internship: 8-15 hours per week available immediately through October 2014
