Come join the History Honors Society, Phi Alpha Theta
The history honors society induction ceremony and banquet will take place in April.
Please contact Dr. Gerona cgerona3@hts.gatech.edu by Monday, March 7 if you would like to participate in Phi Alpha Theta activities.
Benefits include:
- The School of History and Sociology honors all Phi Alpha Theta members with an honors sash at Graduation.
- Opportunities to gather with the larger community of historians; this includes the historical community at Georgia Tech, as well students and professor regionally, and nationally.
- Opportunities to present papers at state and national conferences, win prizes and scholarships, and publish articles in The Historian.
The society is open to any student regardless of major. Undergraduate students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours (4 courses) in HTS, achieve a minimum GPA of 3.1 in HTS and a GPA of 3.0 or better overall. A maximum of 3 credit hours of online, transfer, or AP credits may be applied to the membership eligibility requirement.
If you are interested please contact the faculty advisor, Carla Gerona, cgerona3@hts.gatech.edu by Monday, March 7. You will need to send Dr. Gerona your name, home mailing address, and email as well as $45.00 (must be cash – preferable – or check payable to Carla Gerona).
Anyone who is interested in participating in PAT events, and has yet to meet the requirements can participate in meetings through the history club.
If anyone is interested in presenting a paper at the Annual PAT Conference at Spelman on April 2nd, please let Dr. Gerona know ASAP.
