The Southern History of Science and Technology Conference (SoHoST) invites faculty, independent scholars, and graduate students to participate in the 10th annual meeting to be held at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, April 15-16, 2016. SoHoST welcomes paper proposals (150-250 words) and panel proposals (250-350 words), due by February 15th. All proposals should be sent to mwh0020@auburn.edu.
Past meetings have included papers on topics ranging from agriculture to aerospace technology, health policy to computer gaming, and spanned the 16th through 20th centuries. As always, we are especially interested in developing professional (roundtable) discussions devoted to the challenges and opportunities of teaching and doing the history of science and technology in southern contexts.
Graduate students whose papers are accepted for presentation and who promptly confirm participation can receivetwo nights of free lodging (in the home of a AU faculty member or AU graduate student). For faculty participants, lodging in local hotels will be available. Program decisions will be made and emailed to participants by February 28th, 2016.
