IAC Careers in Government Workshop TODAY

Carol Colatrella (LMC Professor, Co-Director for the Center for the Study of Women, Science, & Technology, and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies & Faculty Affairs) has reserved the Student Center Commons Crescent Common Room on Thursday, February 26, 3:30-5pm for the IAC Careers in Government Workshop.

Speakers include Trey Childress, Chris Pritchett, and Maggie Kosal.

All Ivan Allen College graduate and advanced undergraduate students will be invited to attend.


Chris Pritchett graduated in 2010 with a master's in International Affairs from the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts at Georgia Tech. Chris started working at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) via the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF). Chris is currently working with the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) and has recently served as the Deputy Director for Management and Operations in CDC's Ho Chi Minh City office and in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Business Integrity and Strategic Management Unit.

Lauren Jeffords graduated with B.S.  in History, Technology, and Society from Georgia Tech in 2006. She worked for U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson (2006-2008) and at the Supreme Court of the U.S. from 2008-2014. At the court, she worked three years in the Public Information Office and three years in the Office of the Counselor to the Chief Justice. She is currently the Assistant Director of Federal Relations for Georgia Tech.

Along with her duties as Assistant Professor in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, Dr. Margaret E. Kosal is currently the Associate Director of the Sam Nunn Security Program. Her research explores the relationships among technology, strategy, and governance. Kosal recently returned to the Nunn School after serving as a Senior Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the US Army, General Ray Odierno, as part of his inaugural Strategic Studies Group (SSG) and previously served as Science and Technology Advisor within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).

All Georgia Tech students (graduate students and undergraduates) who are interested are welcome to attend this workshop, which will provide ample opportunity for individual questions.
