Georgia Tech Internship at AT&T Foundry, Fall 2014
The AT&T Foundry™ is a fast-paced and collaborative environment where AT&T and technology providers team to deliver the latest applications and services into the hands of customers more quickly than ever before. More than just showrooms or test labs, AT&T Foundry™ facilities are unique spaces, built to foster collaboration. The AT&T Foundry™ brings the expertise of AT&T innovators into an environment with industry technology experts and developers from all over the world. The AT&T Foundry™ represents a $100 million investment from AT&T and Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Amdocs, Intel and Microsoft. Successful Georgia Tech interns will have access to many of these resources while undertaking product development work.
This four-month internship will be located at the AT&T Foundry™ in Tech Square. Two successful intern candidates will be selected. Expected time commitment will be 15-20 hours per week.
The first intern will be selected on the basis of their proposed project. Candidates will present their proposal to a panel including representatives from AT&T’s CTO and CMO offices. The winner will be selected based on the innovativeness, commercial viability, and potential profitability. Once selected, this intern will have access to Foundry support and expertise while working toward realization of a prototype of their proposal with general support from the AT&T Foundry.
The second intern will be selected based upon the criteria of academic performance, research hours, leadership/involvement, and an essay describing their contribution to the apprenticeship program. This intern will support ongoing product development activity within the Foundry and have access to Foundry support and expertise.
Georgia Tech is the entity offering this internship. Georgia Tech will employ and provide compensation to selected interns. Accordingly, prospective interns should not directly contact or apply to AT&T.
