April 24: debate "Should teachers have guns in schools?" – Student pairs researched both sides of the issues for a few weeks and then were grouped into two teams. The two teams were assigned a “side” of the issue. The debate is meant to be an engaged dialogue and will not have a winner or loser. There will be time for Q & A from the audience and a brainstorm session about possible solutions, alternatives and compromises.
Location: Clough 325
Time: 8:05 - 9:25 a.m.
Coffee and donuts/bagels provided.
April 29: poster session - Students are following and researching an educational issue of choice throughout the semester and will present their findings during the poster session as their final exam. For some, this is the first time they have done a poster session. Visitors will also be able to provide feedback to the students (in written form) about their posters and their discussions. We hope the experience will be helpful for the group in learning how to present ideas effectively to the general public.
Location: TBD Time: 8:00 – 9:30 a.m.
Coffee and donuts/bagels provided.
