The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) will offer two grants in 2014 to qualified professors and students engaged in the study of the Middle East & Africa.

The ASMEA Research Grant provides up to $2,500 to qualified professors and students whose current research is on a topic relevant to one of the six broad areas outlined here, and constitutes new and original research. Successful applicants will be required to present their research at the Seventh Annual ASMEA Conference on October 30-November 1, 2014 and provide ASMEA the right of first refusal for potential publication in the peer-reviewed Journal of the Middle East and Africa. The deadline for the Research Grant Application is March 15, 2014.

In addition, we are pleased to offer Travel Grants of up to $500 to qualified professors and students to present their research at the Seventh Annual ASMEA Conference. Each grant may be used to cover hotel, conference registration, transportation, and related costs. The deadline for the Travel Grant Application is April 1, 2014.
