Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) Summer Intern**

Education: High school diploma and at least one year of college.
Experience: Prefer at least one year experience working or volunteering with students ages K­12.Prefer students that are familiar with the Georgia Tech campus.
Duration: June 2, 2012 – August 1, 2014, 40 hours/week

Duties: This position will serve CEISMC’s K­12 Student Programs that run throughout the summer. Applicants must have prior experience working or volunteering with K­12 aged students. Applicantsshould have leadership experience and must have experience in providing quality customer service andthe ability to speak effectively with students, parents and instructors.

The CEISMC Intern’s role will include, but is not limited to: 1) checking students in and out with parentswhen they arrive/leave campus, 2) supervising group of students throughout daily activities, 3) takingstudents to the Student Center daily for lunch and monitoring them while eating, 5) taking students tovarious locations on campus for tours and lectures, 6) supervising students during recreation time atCRC Crawford Leisure pool, 7) keeping track of student meal cards, 8) assisting instructor during parentpresentation every Friday, 9) fulfilling tasks associated with the day ­to ­day in ­office operations of SummerCamps, 10) completing a summer ­long deliverable at the end of internship.

The CEISMC Intern is a valued member of a small team running CEISMC summer programs. The internreports directly to the Program Coordinator overseeing Student Programs. The intern must welcomepositive direction and suggestions, possess a strong work ethic, and be customer service oriented. The intern is the direct contact for parents on a daily basis and representsCEISMC. Activities and decisions are varied in nature, which to some degree requires independentaction and judgment in solving common problems. Some physical activities are involved such as walkinglong distances and lifting heavy boxes.


Interviews will be held from March 10­-14, 2014. A background check is required for this position.
