Graduate Research Conference at Columbus State

Posted by Admin On 12:29:00 PM
Columbus State University is excited to be hosting its fourth annual Graduate Research Conference. This interdisciplinary conference provides an opportunity for graduate students across the U.S. to present their research in an open and relaxed atmosphere.

Under the broad theme of “Expanding Horizons: Broader Understanding through Interdisciplinary Research" a Call for Proposals to the 2014 Dr. Gregory P. Domin Graduate Research Conference at Columbus State University is hereby issued. Graduate students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit their research for discussion and review. Proposals need not address the title theme specifically.

The deadline for submitting proposals is September 12th with final abstracts due by September 19th. The Registration Cost to attend the Conference is $45.

For more information on the conference, click read more.

The goal of the Conference is to encourage the free flow of ideas and knowledge across a broad spectrum of subjects in order to initiate new thought processes and methods for dealing with the issues facing the world today. This is the perfect opportunity for students who are developing their dissertation or thesis to present their initial findings, or for students who have completed research projects and want an opportunity to have it peer reviewed. Not only does the Domin Conference provide graduate students with the opportunity to present their research and network at a conference exclusively within a group of their own peers, it also provides you with the opportunity to present and highlight the stars of your programs.

The conference will be held at the Cunningham Center on the Columbus State University campus. The Conference has two days of events. CSU has contracted special rates with Whitewater Express for all conference participants who want to enjoy the longest urban whitewater course in the world on the day before the conference, Wednesday, October 15th. The evening of the 15th, we will host a Participant and Sponsor Welcome Reception and the Opening Session where your students can meet and network with their fellow presenters, the faculty and staff supporting the conference, and the generous corporate sponsors who make the conference possible. Presentations and panels will be held all day on Thursday, October 16th.
