This semester HTS and LMC are offering an interesting class being taught by
Dr. Ken Knoespel in HTS and Professor Bruce McEver in LMC. The
class is called "The Role of Myth and Religion in Shaping an Idea
of Community: Witness to a Changing Conscience" and is a three
credit hour, letter graded course that is cross-listed between HTS
and LMC. It is on Tuesdays from 3.05 - 5.55 PM. Course numbers
and CRNs are listed below.
The class is devoted to the study of writers whose works have
shaped the ways we think about what it means to be a human being
in the world of others. After considering a cluster of writing
that explores the relation between myth and religion, the class
will turn its attention to writing that witnesses to fundamental
transformations in individual moral consciousness in a world
transformed by scientific and technological development.
The class will also welcome distinguished
leaders whose voices have provided guidance for this country
and the world. Since this is a class that will meet
once a week regular attendance and generous participation in
discussions is expected.
You can read more about Georgia Tech alum and poet Bruce McEver
