Movie Screening This Wednesday

Posted by Admin On 10:28:00 AM
Colin Penuel, an incoming HTS grad student and a graduating HTS major -- is showing the film 65_RedRoses on Wednesday evening in 104 Old Civil Eng at 6pm that was prompted by work and conversations in the class Science & Technology Beyond Borders this semester.

See below for additional information from Colin:

"Also, several people in the class have told me that they were very intrigued about Cystic Fibrosis after my work in progress and that they knew very little about it. I have toyed around with the idea of suggesting a screening of a documentary called "65_RedRoses" for anyone who was interested some time. It is too long to show in class as part of my presentation, but it is a VERY well done documentary about life with Cystic Fibrosis and the online CF community.I feel I must include a warning however that it does not hold anything back or sugar coat anything. It really shows everything as it is happening and there are numerous parts which can be very difficult to watch.

That being said, it is very good and has won numerous awards including: 2009 hotdocs Top Ten Audience Favorite, 2009 Most Popular Canadian Film- Vancouver International Film Festival, 2010 Audience Award: Best Documentary- Mendocino Film Festival, 2010Audience Award: Best Documentary-Omaha International Film Festival, and 2010 Best Documentary- Arizona International Film Festival.

Here is a link to the trailer for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McuxAi1f1MY
