Twenty percent of Tech students hail from more than 100 countries outside the U.S. Around 40 percent of students participate in an international experience by working, studying or researching abroad and, at this time, nearly 1,000 students are pursuing the International Plan. The Institute has hosted 150 exchange students during the last academic year.
On Thursday, Oct. 25, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed a proclamation deeming Nov. 12-16 International Education Week. The joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and Department of Education aims to highlight the growing importance of international education and exchange from both inbound (international students in the U.S.) and outbound (study abroad) perspectives.
