GoSTEM Pathways to College Mentors Needed

The GoSTEM Pathways to College program, led by Moraima Guzman-Bambaren, is an outreach program between Georgia Institute of Technology and Meadowcreek High School, and Lilburn and Radloff Middle school; all located in Gwinnett County. The GoSTEM Pathways to College program targets Hispanic/Latino students enrolled in these schools to provide exposure to STEM disciplines, enhance their educational experience, and prepare them and their families to make the decision to pursue a college degree. Within the program, college students serve as mentors to the middle school and high school students.

They are currently looking for college students to work as mentors.  Mentors meet with high school students one-on-one, once a week during the school day, and serve as facilitators for the weekly after school program. Mentoring for the middle school students take place during small group activities weekly after school from 4:30-6 pm. The compensation is $11/hour.

The qualifications they are looking for are:
  • Good academic standing
  • Strong science and math skills
  • Personal Vehicle REQUIRED
