The Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) places a Fulbrighter in a classroom abroad to provide assistance to teachers of English to non-native English-speakers. English Teaching Assistants help teach English language while serving as a cultural ambassador for U.S. culture. The age and academic level of classroom students varies by country, ranging from kindergarten to university level. Applicants for English Teaching Assistantships can apply to only one country. Consult this table for details on specific country requirements and numbers of awards.
The Georgia Tech campus deadline has passed, but any student interested may apply as an at-large candidate. At-large candidates must submit their applications through the Embark online application system by the deadline on the Fulbright website no later than October 17, 2012 (5:00 p.m., Eastern Time). At-large candidates are responsible for ensuring that all supporting documents are attached to the online application. Students interested in applying should begin the process of obtaining the three recommendations immediately as this component can often take the longest.
Kathryn Meehan, Director of Fellowships in Undergraduate Studies (2nd floor of Clough by Starbuck’s), is willing to help students with applications. Kathryn.meehan@gatech.edu
