The
Writing and Communication Program in the School of Literature, Media,
and Communication is seeking two interns for the 2012-2013 academic
year.
The
Writing and Communication Program Internship offers Georgia Tech
students (and sometimes recent alums) an opportunity to work closely
with the program’s administrators on virtually every aspect of the
program’s maintenance and development. Interns focus on extending their
competencies in professional communication while working on areas that
range from designing materials for public relations to planning
initiatives for communication across the academic disciplines. Although
all interns support daily operations, we tailor interns’ projects to
their interests, so if you’re interested in digital media, you’re likely
to work on technology-driven projects, or if you’re interested in
history and culture, you’re likely to work with faculty on research.
The
position is available for fall semester and requires regular office
hours as well as independently driven project development, a total of up
to 10 hours per week. You’ll need to know or quickly learn basic
software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and be
prepared to develop more advanced proficiencies as your projects
require. We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in
Excel. Compensation can involve a standard hourly rate or course credit.
If you’re interested, please send a letter of application and a resume
to Dr. Andy Frazee, andy.frazee@lmc.gatech.edu, by August 31, 2012.
