The Georgia Woman of the Year Committee, Inc., in cooperation with the Georgia Commission on Women, has established a scholarship awards program for women attending Georgia colleges and universities. Scholarship grants of $1,000.00 each will be given in honor or the 2012 Georgia Woman of the Year.
On Thursday, August 23, 2012, the scholarships will be awarded at the Georgia Woman of the Year dinner at 103 West restaurant in Atlanta when Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Carole Hunstein will be honored as the 2012 Georgia Woman of the Year.
Each of the unrestricted grants of $1,000.00 will be given to women who have competed at least their freshman year, have at least a 2.5 grade point average, exhibit leadership capabilities and have participated in community campus activities.
Nominations may be made by a faculty member in any college, university, or technical college in Georgia. There are no requirements based on the area of study. A letter describing assessment of the nominee’s qualifications, with any supporting information, should be mailed, or sent electronically, to the Georgia Woman of the Year Committee, Inc., Scholarship Committee, at the address below before Monday, August 6, 2012.
