The following academic support programs are available this Spring in the Center for Academic Success. Students and advisors are invited to contact or stop by the CAS for more information on any of these opportunities.
1. PLUS
Peer-Led Undergraduate Study (PLUS) will be offered in Math 1501, 1502, 2401 and ISYE 2027. All PLUS Sessions begin Tuesday, January 17th. All Leaders will hold double review sessions before the first exam. Check www.success.gatech.edu for the complete PLUS and doubles schedule.
2. Commons Tutoring
Math Lab, Chemistry Tutoring (Freshman AND Organic), Physics Tutoring and the CS1371 Helpdesk hold daily hours for drop-in tutoring. Complete schedule of hours and courses are found at www.success.gatech.edu.
3. 1-to-1 Tutoring
Appointments for 1-to-1 Tutoring begin January 11th, 2012. 1-to-1 Tutoring is free and offered in over 80 courses. Students can schedule a 1-hour session to meet individually with a trained tutor at www.success.gatech.edu.
4. Sunday Group Study
Group study sessions facilitated by trained peer tutors are available on Sundays from 4-9pm for high demand courses. Benefits of group tutoring include working with an experienced tutor: meeting, learning, and collaborating with other students and focusing on study skills. Group sizes will range between 2-5 students. Students can sign up individually or with a group at www.success.gatech.edu.
5. EXCEL Cohort
The EXCEL Cohort is an academic support program for freshmen and sophomores who aren't meeting their own academic expectations. EXCEL participants work with staff members to develop customized success plans and have access to additional academic support services including tutoring, workshops, academic coaching, PLUS sessions, and study hours. The program will begin the last week of January. Applications will be available the week of Jan. 17th. More information is available at www.success.gatech.edu.
