If you are interested in teaching at a private K-12 school beginning Fall 2012, you should consider working with Southern Teachers Agency (STA). STA has been around since 1902 and is a free service to prospective teachers, matching them with independent schools across the Southeast (serving the states from Florida up to Maryland and Virginia, and over to eastern Texas). The middle and high schools that use STA to recruit teachers do not require prior teacher certification. See www.SouthernTeachers.com for more information.
STA will host a Job Fair in Atlanta on February 10th-11th. The deadline to apply to attend the fair is Jan. 20th. Part of the application process is to register and be approved by STA (which is free and does not require a commitment from you), so between now and the end of December would be a good time to knock this out. Note that while the fair is in Atlanta, schools from across the Southeast will be in attendance. Schools will be looking for teachers in all fields, but there is usually a special demand for people who can teach Physics, Chemistry, Math or Spanish. Go to www.SouthernTeachers.com to apply.
