blueEnergy is an international non-profit
that works to bring renewable energy, clean water, and other related services
to communities living beyond the edge of the market. Their efforts are
currently focused on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, an area in which over
75% of the population lacks access to electricity and clean water services.
One critical aspect of the
organization is their internship program. The internship program is a 1-12 week
program for students interested in renewable energy, clean water, and/or
development work. For those interested, they offer Spanish immersion courses. This
may be a great opportunity for students who are interested in gaining hands-on
experience in a complex and challenging environment.
