The new KIPP Atlanta Collegiate high school invites Tech students to volunteer as tutors in their after-school tutoring sessions. The students have tutoring from 4:00-5:00 on M, Tu, Th and F afternoons, and all students participate. Students who want to tutor in all subjects are welcome; they especially need Tech students who can tutor in math and physics.
If you're not familiar with KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program), go to http://www.kippatlantacollegiate.org to learn more. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is a free, public charter high school in the APS system. Its mission is "to provide rigorous academic and character skills that will ensure our students get to and through college with the resources to thrive in their future pursuits." This is a new school-- it just opened this summer-- it's not far from Tech, and parking is easy.
If you're interested in tutoring, or getting involved at KAC in some other ways, please contact Beth Bullock Spencer.
