Greg
Marlowe, a private historical researcher, is conducting ongoing research bearing on one particular scientist, Dr. W.F. Libby,
the 1960 Nobel Chemist for his ‘discovery’ of C-14 dating. Libby, during WWII,
worked at Columbia U., engaged in the gaseous diffusion project to enrich
U-235, as part of the Manhattan Project.
The research assistance he seeks at this juncture is
very ‘straightforward’ in nature. He can provide the specific boxes and folders
within pertinent to Record Group 326. In a nutshell, the task of any hired
student would be to use a digital camera (the archivists say they even have
ones on hand available for use by visitors) to ‘copy’ the documents he has
identified. The materials then might be downloaded and sent as an attachment,
or some such approach.

please feel free to contact Greg Marlowe. Both upper class undergrads and grad
students in the History department could accomplish the work quite easily.
Additional details about this targeted research, establishing an hourly fee for
a hiree, etc. will be established in advance.
