The GT Water Alliance will be holding its first meeting of the
semester Thursday (9/1) in Klaus auditorium 1447. Though relatively
new to campus, the organization has already made significant strides towards the goal of promoting the proper use of water resources within the student body
and surrounding communities, raising a general awareness of the issues facing
the implementation of clean drinking water and sanitation on a global scale,
and highlighting related research being carried out on campus. In
addition to educating the community and decreasing Georgia Tech's water
footprint, the Water Alliance aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas between
departments in order to inspire and support multi-disiplinary innovation and
project development. This effort has not been confined to the Georgia
Tech campus -- in fact, members have been invited to participate in many
off-campus initiatives, including hosting an exhibit at the Georgia Aquarium.
