Freshmen who have AP credit for MATH 1501 or who have an SAT Math score of 600 or more can register for MATH 1501.
New this fall: Students who have an SAT Math score of less than 600 have the option of taking a placement exam for precalc. Passing this exam will allow the student to register for MATH 1501 in the fall 2011.
No academic credit is granted for passing this pre-calculus exam.
Optional GT Advanced Placement MATH 1113 Exam (2hrs, calculators are allowed but not required):
The MATH 1113 exam is open to any student with mathematics SAT score of less than 600. If the student passes the exam, he/she will be allowed to register for MATH 1501. Consult the MATH 1113 syllabus page: http://www.math.gatech.edu/ course/math/1113.
