The Society of Georgia Archivists (SGA) was established in 1969 to foster a community of archivists, librarians, historians, educators, and museum and historical agency personnel in the state of Georgia and in the southeast region of the United States. The organization is interested in creating opportunities for Tech’s students to learn more about the field of archives by offering educational events, networking, and career development activities. Membership in SGA also provides a solid connection to information about current archival and historical trends and issues as well as opportunities to associate with and learn from leading individuals in the field.
This is a great opportunity to expand your professional outlook through membership in the Society of Georgia Archivists. Student membership for full-time students is $10 annually. Benefits of membership include discounted conference and workshop fees, access to the SGA listserv and online job postings, as well as subscriptions to the SGA publications Provenance and the SGA Newsletter.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact Christine Wiseman, SGA President, at 678-364-3761 or cwiseman@sos.ga.gov or Marie Force, SGA Membership Committee Chair, at 404-714-2371 or marie.force@delta.com.
