Info Session: Georgia Cyber Academy

Posted by Angela Valenti On 1:06:00 PM

Join us for a virtual Info Session this Wednesday (March 9th) at 5:30 p.m. (link to online session is below-- you don't have to go anywhere, just have Internet connection!) on the Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA).  This will be an introduction to online learning in grades K-12, as well as an overview of ways Tech students and alumni can get involved at GCA.

Did you know that Georgia’s largest public school:
  • Serves over 6,000 students currently in grade K-9?
  • Has students from over 150 counties in Georgia?
  • Is a Title I school, with over 55% of students from low-income households?
  • Is Georgia’s first ever virtual charter school, with all 6,000+ students and 150+ teachers working from home?
  • Has a GT Alum for a Principal?

Come learn more about Georgia Cyber Academy and possible opportunities for the Georgia Tech community to work with students from across the state to embrace the future of public education and technology.  Tech alums Matt Arkin (GCA Head of School), Angela Medley (GCA Middle School Science Teacher), and Sabrina Chambers (GCA Business Manager), are excited to introduce you to this well kept secret of how innovative public education can be in Georgia, and answer questions about how GT grads can be successful leaders in improving public education for students everywhere.
Date: Wednesday, March 9th from 5:30-6:30 PM
