Feb 24: Don DeMaria, Director of the Washington Semester Program & the Learning Communities Initiative, will be on campus this Thursday to share more information and answer your questions about the Washington Semester Program.
About the program: Each fall and spring semester, up to twenty students from the University System of Georgia have the unique opportunity to live, work and study in Washington, DC through the Washington Semester Program. The Washington Semester is open to undergraduate students in all colleges and schools, and it is a comprehensive program, combining coursework, internships and a residential living environment. Students enrolled in the Washington Semester Program:
- Earn at least 12 hours of academic credit
- Work at least 30 hours per week in an approved internship
- Live with other program students in the nation’s capital
- Connect with leaders in public policy, government and business
- Participate in a variety of cultural, professional and social opportunities unique to Washington
Anyone can benefit from participation in this program, even if you are not interested in politics or are not majoring in political science or international affairs. The application deadline for fall is March 1, 2011.
