Spring 2011 Internships available with The Istanbul Center
The Istanbul Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-governmental and non-partisan organization that was established in 2002 to build bridges between the Turkish-American and other communities in the Southeastern U.S. As part of our Mission Statement, we endeavor to proactively contribute to solving educational, cultural and humanitarian issues by promoting dialogue and international cooperation.
Istanbul Center is where work in international dialogue brings communities together.
Internships begin the week of January 3, 2011 and are one semester long with a possible one-semester extension. Interns should commit to at least 15 hours per week. Schedules are flexible. Internships are unpaid but academic credit may be earned.
Istanbul Center seeks motivated undergraduate or graduate students with:
· Intn'l Relations, Intn'l Business, Political Science, Economics or similar major
- Alternatively, students proficient in Computer Science, Web Design or Graphic Arts may apply for a technology internship that will include work on the IC website and marketing materials. Please indicate this distinction in your initial email.
· Superior organizational skills
· High academic achievement
· Excellent communication skills
· Desire to learn about other cultures
· Interest in Turkey/Eurasia
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Initiative to take on challenging, longer-term projects
