Recognizing the link between intellectual excellence and equity, Georgia Tech will sponsor its second annual Diversity Symposium on Friday, September 17, in the Global Learning Center and Georgia Tech Hotel. Building on the Institute's new strategic plan that aspires to embrace and leverage diversity in all of its forms, the symposium will focus on the challenges of and prospects for academic diversity, as well as the development of strategies for managing diversity matters.
The keynote speaker, Medical College of Georgia President Dr. Ricardo Azziz, will address “Prospective Challenges and Opportunities Regarding Diversity in STEM Organizations.” A roundtable discussion, featuring experts from other post-secondary institutions as well as campus leadership, will then speak on their experiences with expanding diversity in various academic settings.
