GT Campaign for EveryBody

Georgia Tech’s third annual GT Campaign for EveryBody Week, formerly Body Image Awareness Month, will be held February 22-26. During this week men and women will have the opportunity to examine perceptions and attitudes related to body image and participate in discussions on body image issues on-campus. Activities are sponsored by the GT Body Image Committee.  Events include: (click "Read More" for a full list).


GT Campaign For EveryBody Kickoff Event: Monday, February 22, 11am-1pm, Student Center

GT student volunteers will staff tables at the Student Center with an interactive activity.  Promotional materials will be available to encourage participation in week’s events.

Message in a Body Open Mic Night: Monday, February 22, 7pm, H20 Café, CRC

This program will give students an opportunity to express feelings and emotions surrounding body image issues.  It is co-sponsored by Erato.

How to help a friend: Eating disorders on GT’s campus:  Tuesday, February 23, 11am-12pm, Rm. 240, CRC

Being a friend to someone with an eating disorder can sometimes be very challenging.  Often we struggle with what to say or know what the best support methods might be.  Join us for a workshop on tips and strategies to help a friend struggling with disordered eating.  This program is sponsored by Go T.E.C.H.

Reading of The Good Body: Thursday, February 25, 6:30pm, Clary Theater, Student Success Center

Eve Ensler is an internationally acclaimed playwright whose work you might know best from The Vagina Monologues.  The Good Body is an inside look at the outside.  Through personal anecdotes and first-hand interviews with women around the world, Eve examines how we truly feel about food, our bodies, and ourselves.

Healthy Perspectives on Body Image Photography Exhibit (displayed at CRC): Entire Week

A photography exhibit will give GT students the opportunity to examine different healthy activities that contribute to healthy body image.   This program is co-sponsored by the GT Photo Club and GT Library.

International Perspectives on Beauty Photography Exhibit (displayed at GT Library): Entire Week


A photography exhibit will show GT students the different international perspectives of beauty.  This program is co-sponsored by the GT Photo Club, GT Library, and Office of International Education.

Body Mod Blog:  Launched on February 22

This blog will expose GT students to the positive and negative effects of body modification on body image.  It will also give students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to share their personal experiences with body modification.

GT Body Peace Treaty: Relaunched on February 22

The GT Body Peace Treaty encourages positive self-image among GT students.  It includes self-affirming personal statements to help students feel good about themselves.  Women and men can sign the GT Body Peace Treaty by joining a Facebook group.
