Student Job for 3 to 5 students:

Description
Assisting to execute design & conceptual video needs of the production at early meetings & rehearsals.
Operating video equipment, including but not necessarily limited to, several fixed and roaming cameras, video mixer/switcher to “live-edit” signal feeds together, video monitors, etc, during some rehearsals, all technical rehearsals, and all performances.
Camera/Utility Grip Swing Crew, meaning that the students will be part of the stage crew and would arrive for an early technical setup calls with the rest of the stage management and stage crew.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals: Mon-Thu 7-11pm or 7-9pm, Sat/Sun 12-5pm. (We will need to work out scheduling, as I don’t anticipate that all students will be available for all rehearsals). This works out to 72 total hours of rehearsal, but I need to have more detailed discussions with our director to see how much of that time students are actually needed.
Tech Rehearsals: Sat 3/6 3-8pm, Sun 3/7 11am-11pm, Mon 3/8 thru Wed 3/10 6-11pm. This works out to 32 total hours for technical rehearsal week, which would need to be a full time commitment for the students.

Performances: Thu 3/11thru Sat 4/3, Thu-Sat nights 6-10pm, one Mon 3/22 6-10pm. This works out to 52 total hours spread out over the four-week run of performances, which is also a full time commitment for students.
Grand total of hours could be as high as 152 hours, but it’s likely that the 72 hours of rehearsal wouldn’t necessarily mean 72 hours of student time.

Other Considerations:
Our website is http://www.dadsgarage.com/ for background information.
Not only would this project be a great resume item, we would be happy to write letters of recommendation for future projects or jobs of any students who work with us.
We would also be willing to offer a Level 1 Improv Class to any students who work with us, for the Summer 2010 session.

Applicants should have direct, hands-on experience (or training) with running cameras, audio mixers, or video mixers, and ideally should have some experience with video direction and DP-type work.

Send applications/ resumes ASAP!
