Position Title: Intern, Program Services Department, Georgia Chapter
Responsible To: Kandi Spencer, MA, LPC, Director of Program Services

Job Description & Responsibilities: Provide professional and administrative support for the Georgia Chapter March of Dimes Program Department. This department is responsible for planning and implementing mission-related efforts focusing on maternal and child health issues throughout the state of Georgia. Responsibilities include participating in community events, responding to public inquiries for health education materials, working with the Georgia Division offices, assisting with coordination of community programs, such as, Georgia Children’s Healthcare Alliance, Tobacco Technical Assistance Consortium; assisting with Public Affairs activities; assisting with the Chapter Grant process; assisting with implementing the Prematurity Campaign; and assisting in the implementation of the Chapter Program Plan.

Qualifications/Skills: Candidates interested in a summer, summer/fall semester or a fall/spring semester internship may apply. Prefer graduate student in public health field. Bachelor's Degree in health education, community health, social work, or other related field considered. Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong computer skills with MS Office (including Outlook, Publisher, and Access) required.

Hours & Compensation: Part-time or Full-time hours are available. Hours may vary depending on current activities.

Training: Training will be provided by the Chapter staff. The objectives of the training will be to provide a clear understanding of the March of Dimes mission and strategic plan and an understanding of marketing strategies for program promotion.

Evaluation: Evaluation period is at the midpoint and end of the internship experience. All school requirements for evaluation will be adhered to by the March of Dimes.
