New China Summer Program

Posted by Admin On 4:37:00 PM

The 2010 Georgia Tech China Summer Program (CSP) (May 22 - July 24, 2010), which is formerly Shanghai Summer Program, will offer its first general information session at 6:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in Instructional Center, Room 107. Pizza and drinks will be served.

The faculty members who will teach in the CSP will attend the information session. We will also invite several Shanghai Summer Program alumni to attend the information session to talk about their experiences. Please join us and get your questions answered! More detailed information can be found at www.chinasummer.gatech.edu/. To download an informational flyer, go to www.hts.gatech.edu/blog/CSP.pdf.

Starting in summer 2010, the Shanghai Summer Program will be replaced by a new China Summer Program, which will operate sequentially from two locations - Tianjin in the north, and Shanghai in the south. By residing in two cities, CSP participants will be able to experience two different regions of China with distinct customs, cultures, dialects, and foods. The two hosting universities (Tianjin University and Shanghai Jiaotong University) are top engineering schools in China.

The 2010 CSP will offer 7 lecture courses that will be taught in English by Georgia Tech faculty. Non-credit Chinese courses will be offered by both hosting universities. Non-credit Chinese cultural courses such as Chinese cooking, Chinese martial arts, Taiji and Weiqi (Go Game) will be offered as well.

This coming summer is an especially exciting time as the 2010 World Expo will be held in Shanghai, China!
