INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY-GEORGIA TECH WOMEN’S RESOURCE CENTER

The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) at Georgia Tech is seeking a committed, responsible, passionate student to serve as an unpaid intern for the fall 2009 semester. The intern will work closely with the Sexual Violence Task Force (SVTF) and be responsible for researching campus-based programs on sexual violence prevention that are targeted towards men. Based on that research, (s)he will assist in the creation and implementation of a men’s sexual violence prevention program for the Georgia Tech community. In addition, the intern will attend monthly SVTF meetings to keep the task force apprised of the progress of the project.
The commitment is 15 – 20 hours per week for the fall 2009 semester, and the intern will be provided an office. Experience and/or knowledge of the subject area is preferred, but not required. Students will be required to attend a four-hour Sexual Violence Advocacy Training class as part of the internship. HTS majors can receive three credits (pass/fail) for HTS 4990, the HTS internship course.
