The City of Atlanta will host the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Legislative Summit, to be held at the Georgia World Congress Center between August 12-15, 2013. The NCSL summit is the largest gathering of state legislators in the nation, and Georgia House Speaker David Ralston and his staff are trying to secure enough local volunteers to assist with the various events and meetings that are associated with the conference. The conference will require over 200 student volunteers to be successful.
Chancellor Huckaby is requesting assistance from University System of Georgia institutions, including Georgia Tech, in recruiting student volunteers who might interested in assisting with the NCSL summit. This is a great opportunity for students, especially those who may have served as interns at the Capitol or other state government agencies.
More information is available at http://www.ncsl.org/meetings/summit-2013/home.aspx. Prospective student volunteers should contact Ms. Betsy Jackson (betsy.jackson@gatech.edu) in the Office of Government and Community Relations.
