Graduate Studies and Pre-Graduate and Pre-Professional Advising (C2D2) will host the first-ever Georgia Tech Graduate Fair, Thursday, 5 April 2016, 11-1, in the Student Center Ballroom. This fair will showcase opportunities in Georgia Tech's many graduate programs and will include break-out sessions to discuss application processes, personal statements, and the graduate student experience. This fair will focus on GT programs and students, but the information will be useful for students considering other graduate schools, too. Interested in teaching American history, American government, or social studies at the secondary school level? Consider the James Madison Fellowship Program, which funds both current teachers and college students interested in teaching. Fellows receive $24,000 for pursuing graduate education to assist with their teaching.

In addition to the financial assistance for a master's degree program, Fellows have the unique opportunity to attend a summer institute to strengthen their knowledge of the origins and development of American constitutional government.

MA program at Miami University:

The program is selective and, quite unusually among MA programs, we offer two years of full-funding. Students get an extensive training in teaching and can take advantage of our wide-ranging intellectual community including opportunities offered by the Humanities Center and the Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies. Additionally there are opportunities available through interdisciplinary programs such as American Studies and Women’s Studies, as well as our overseas language programs and acclaimed humanities departments.

The program has a strong track-record of placing students in top-tier PhD programs should they want to continue in that direction. However, we have recently re-designed our MA to include a "module" system which allows MA students to expand their professional skill sets for preparation across a wide variety of academic and professional fields. Along with a traditional history track we offer:

• Geographic Information Systems: Classes and Training in GIS, Python Programming, Aerial Photo Interpretation, Techniques in Landscape Ecology
• Gerontology: courses in Logic of Inquiry, Qualitative Research, Organizations & the Aging Enterprise, Policy & Politics of Aging, Quantitative Methods & Statistics
• Interactive Media Studies: Courses Digital Development Methods, Visual Rhetoric, elective studies in Interactive Media
• Self-Designed Module: options include an additional History Colloquium, an additional History Elective, Independent Study

Duke MA in Bioethics & Science Policy

Georgia Tech and Emory have collaborated to create a new, joint BS/Juris Master degree.  Students complete their undergraduate work at GT, followed by one year of Juris Master (note that this is not a JD) coursework at Emory Law School.  There are several scholarships available for this new program.

Devin Lueddeke, a representative from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, will be hosting an information session for students interested graduate opportunities in International Development, International Education Management, Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies, International Environmental Policy, Translation/Interpretation and Linguistics that are offered at the Middlebury Institute. Bio: Devin Lueddeke is the Director of Recruiting at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. He manages the recruiting and admissions efforts for the Institute and works directly with prospective students interested in the Graduate School of International Policy and Management. He also works closely with the school’s Dean and faculty on a variety of special projects, institutional partnerships and strategic initiatives. He joined the institute in 2007. Prior to joining the Institute, he led recruitment for World Learning and The Experiment in International Living. He received his bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College in Biology and Political Science.
