2010 is the tenth annual Founder's Day celebration of the legacy of the College's namesake, Ivan Allen Jr. (1910-2003). A former Atlanta mayor, gifted business man, civil leader, and alumnus of Georgia Tech, Mr. Allen embodied our aspirations for graduates of the College. Founder's Day honor's his memory through a day of festivities on or near the occasion his March 15 birth date.
The centerpiece of Founder's Day is the presentation of the Ivan Allen Jr. Prize for Progress and Service to a leader affiliated with Georgia. The recipient is recognized for outstanding contribution in a profession or field related to one of the disciplines of the College. Also presented during the Founder's Day program are Ivan Allen Jr. Legacy Awards to faculty, student, and alumnus who exemplify the spirit of civic leadership personified by Mayor Allen.
