This year, for the first time, Georgia Tech is organizing an event, Freshman First, to be held before final exams to encourage our first-year students who are ending their first semester at Tech. It will be hosted on December 3, 2015, from 3:30-4:30pm, along Brittain Drive (AKA: Yellow Jacket Alley) and leading up to Callaway Plaza (i.e. between Peters parking deck and the football stadium).

The idea is that freshmen prior to taking their first exams will get to walk down Yellow Jacket Alley and be encouraged/high fived by staff, faculty, and upperclassmen.

Once they cross Bobby Dodd, they'll come into Callaway Plaza where they will hear a speech from SGA President Jen Abrams, see a video produced by Wreckless, and hear from President Peterson. The Ramblin’ Wreck, GT Band, and Buzz will lead the walk. This event is intended to be a phenomenal show of community support to our new students. But that will require a good turnout by faculty, staff and upperclassmen.
