The Undergraduate House of Representatives in SGA has a seat for every degree granting college, but the seat for History and Sociology is currently empty.

Students who want a chance to get involved in SGA, make a big impact on campus, and help clubs get funding for events they host should apply!

Applications can be found at tinyurl.com/UHR201516. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Speaker of the House, Julia Falvey, at julia.falvey@gatech.edu.

This is such an important call to action — it's surprising how often the voices of History and Sociology students go underrepresented in the spaces where real decisions are made. The fact that this seat is empty says a lot about how we sometimes overlook the power of humanistic thinking in shaping campus life.
Students who study human behavior, social structures, and the patterns of the past have a unique lens that governance bodies genuinely need. It reminds me of something I kept returning to while writing my novel I Feel Like a Woman (إحساسي امرأة) — how the people who understand identity and society most deeply are often the quietest in the room, yet they carry the most profound stories.
If you've ever felt like your perspective deserves to be heard — in a senate chamber or anywhere else — this is exactly the kind of opportunity worth taking. Apply and make that seat count. 🗳️📖
