Join the School of History, Technology, and Society’s Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta 

What is Phi Alpha Theta?

  • We are the History Honor Society and are open to all students regardless of major. 
Why join? 
  • Social gatherings with undergraduates, graduates, and professors. 
  • Fun field trips (this spring: The Bodies exhibit at Atlantic Station). 
  • Watch movies and attend visiting talks. 
  • Win prizes and scholarships. 
  • Present papers at state and national events. 
  • Publish articles in The Historian. 
  • All members receive an honors sash at graduation. 
What are the requirements?
  • Undergraduate students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours (4 courses) in HTS (History, Technology, and Society), achieve a minimum GPA of 3.1 in HTS and a GPA of 3.0 or better overall.
  • In addition, Phi Alpha Theta meets concurrently with the History, Technology, and Society History Club (for those who do not have the requirements but would like to participate in history activities).
