Buzzin' Back to School

The Office of Human Resources is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Buzzin' Back to School, a school supply drive by Georgia Tech employees for Georgia Tech families!

What is Buzzin' Back to School?
OHR was again able to secure a number of backpacks for a school supply drive. We will be donating these backpacks filled with school supplies to GT employees with children (grades K-12) who may not have the financial means to obtain the necessary supplies for school. We ask that the GT community donate supplies from the list at the bottom of this page. The number of items that will be placed in the backpacks will very much depend on the amount of donations we collect.

Who is eligible to receive a backpack?
This initiative is solely intended to support the children of our GT employees who may not be able to provide these supplies on their own. While there are no formal eligibility requirements, we ask that only those employees who are in need make a request for a backpack. At this time, it is only for the children of GT employees. While we hope to have enough supplies to fulfill all requests, submission of a backpack request does NOT guarantee a backpack. Please click here to request a backpack.

Important Dates:
  • Deadline to Request a Backpack Friday, July 19
  • Deadline to Donate Supplies Monday, July 22
  • Backpack Distribution Wednesday, July 31

How can you help?We are requesting the following supplies which can be delivered to your HR Representative or directly to OHR (500 Tech Parkway):
  • College ruled paper
  • College ruled notebooks
  • Wide-ruled paper
  • Wide-ruled notebooks
  • #2 pencils
  • Black/Blue Ink pens
  • Erasers
  • Glue sticks (white)
  • Pocket folders
  • Crayons
  • Three ring binders
  • Rulers
We are extremely excited about this initiative and look forward to your participation in helping us continue to make Georgia Tech a Great Place to Work!
