When are auditions?
Auditions for Marching Band are held during band camp (the week before fall semester classes begin). Concert Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble auditions are held the first week of classes. Auditions are primarily held for placement in order to ensure each student's success in the ensemble.

Will I have enough time to study and be in an ensemble?
Although Tech students have a full academic schedule, they are always able to find time for an ensemble they enjoy. In the combined activity of rehearsals and concerts, students enjoy a musically rewarding experience and a well-deserved break from their studies. Students involved in ensembles also receive the supportive elements that make a successful academic career: diverse experiences, positive social interactions, and confidence-building through team and individual effort. The proof is in the research: Involved students do better academically.
