Dr. Flamming Wins Prestigious Awards

Professor Doug Flamming has received official notification that he will be among the 2012 Class of Guggenheim Fellows.  This distinguished fellowship will provide a year's leave, beginning this August, during which Professor Flamming will work on his current book project, Law of Promise: The Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Professor Flamming has also received the Geoffrey Eichholz Teaching Award.  This award is given annually
to two faculty  members who excel in their teaching of foundation courses at Georgia Tech, courses taken by freshmen and sophomores.  The Award consists of a $5,000 prize, awarded each year for three years.  It is a major honor for a Georgia Tech educator.
